Болезнь (синдром) Иценко—Кушинга — это заболевание, связанное с избыточным содержанием в крови кортикостероидов — гормонов, вырабатываемых небольшими железами, расположенными над почками и поэтому называемыми надпочечниками. Главную роль в происходящих в организме изменениях при данном заболевании играет гормон кортизол. Эти нарушения могут развиться по ряду причин, в связи с чем часто необходимо проведение нескольких тестов для выяснения причины заболевания.

The main role in the changes occurring in the body with this disease is played by the hormone cortisol. These disorders can develop for a number of reasons, and therefore it is often necessary to conduct several tests to determine the cause of the disease.
