Препараты сульфонилмочевины представляют основную группу лекарств, применяемых для лечения сахарного диабета (СД) II типа. Эти препараты относятся к секретогенам инсулина и основное их сахароснижающее действие связано со стимуляцией образования и высвобождения инсулина из островков поджелудочной железы.

Sulfonylureas are the main group of drugs used to treat type II diabetes mellitus. These drugs belong to insulin secretogens and their main hypoglycemic effect is associated with stimulation of the formation and release of insulin from pancreatic islets.
