Мелатонин и сахарный диабет (обзор современных экспериментальных данных)

Аннотация

Секретируемый эпифизом и апудоцитами желудочно-кишечного тракта мелатонин участвует в регуляции углеводного обмена, модулируя активность α- и Β-клеток островков Лангерганса поджелудочной железы через специфические мелатониновые рецепторы (МР1 и МР2). Уровни мелатонина и инсулина находятся в реципрокных отношениях, а дефицит мелатонина, очевидно, является одним из факторов патогенеза сахарного диабета. Мелатонин обеспечивает антидиабетическую защиту посредством различных клеточных и системных механизмов.
