Abstract
In cats thyroidin toxaemia is accompanied by increased content of noneiterified fatty acids (NEFA), of ketone bodies and of amino nitrogen in the arterial blood. Myocardial absorption of NEFA and ketone bodies becomes elevated. Lipolytic activity of the myocardium rises. Contribution of the products of fat metabolism into oxygen uptake by the cardiac muscle increases.
